Description
GHK-Cu, also known as copper tripeptide-1, is a complex of the naturally occurring tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (GHK) with copper(II). GHK has been identified naturally in human plasma and has a strong affinity for copper, forming the GHK-Cu complex.
Laboratory research has investigated GHK-Cu in relation to extracellular-matrix remodeling, collagen and glycosaminoglycan pathways, cellular signaling, oxidative-stress responses, and inflammatory processes. Much of the available evidence comes from in-vitro and preclinical research, making it an active area of biochemical and cellular investigation.
GHK-Cu is not an FDA-approved drug for any medical indication. Current FDA evaluation distinguishes non-injectable research/compounding considerations from injectable use, for which FDA has identified limited human safety information and potential immunogenicity concerns.
