Description
TB-500 is a synthetic N-acetylated heptapeptide fragment corresponding to residues 17–23 of thymosin beta-4. It has attracted research interest because of its relationship to biological pathways involving cell migration, cytoskeletal organization, and tissue-related cellular processes.
Research on TB-500 itself remains limited, and it is important to distinguish the fragment from full-length thymosin beta-4. Findings from studies of the parent peptide cannot automatically be applied to TB-500. The FDA has reported limited direct evidence for TB-500, including a lack of identified human administration studies and concerns regarding characterization, impurities, and potential immunogenicity.
TB-500 is an investigational research compound and is not FDA-approved for any therapeutic indication.
